Walki has confirmed it will shortly bring out Walki Print Media XXL products suitable for printing with water-based latex as well as UV inks. The company said the next generation products – which will also be certified flame retardant – will weigh less than half as much as traditional PVC-based products.
The existing PVC-free and pfthalate-free Walki Print Media XXL is 100% recyclable, halogen-free and REACH-compliant, but Luk Meys, Walki’s global category manager, imaging, said: “Although the products have been available for quite a while, the anti-PVC movement really started gaining momentum recently, partly prompted by environmentally conscious millennials.”
