UK businesses are leaving themselves open to data breaches according to research by Specops Software. A new survey shows that 42% of employees from 1,342 businesses across 11 sectors in the UK have have not been provided adequate cyber security training.
Top of the problem list was the travel and hospitality sector, where 84% of businesses were found not to have trained staff sufficiently against cyber attack. But, worryingly, 30% of those in computing and IT said that was the case too.
Other industries shown not to have provided sufficient training include education and training (69%), customer service (56%), marketing, advertising and PR (47%), medical and health (42%), art and design (37%), charity and voluntary work (29%), accountancy, banking and finance (23%), recruitment and HR (19%), and legal services (16%).
