Print Solutions to launch new anti-curl roll up media
Print Solutions will launch a new anti curl roll-up product during April. The Dublin-based company believes the addition of this new material will attract significant interest from customers bedevilled with the age old problem of edge curl.
Ian Scouler, director of Print Solutions, explained: “Roll-ups are literally everywhere. However, one of the problems is that the printed graphic tends to curl at the edges after a while on the pull-up stand. Print Solutions new product which has been sourced in South East Asia has a PET centre and skins of PVC on both sides so the PET gets sandwiched in the middle. This manufacturing process has been especially designed to counter any curl tendency of the substrate when it’s hanging. Once you put it in the roll up and roll it up it stays completely flat.”
Print Solutions intends to launch this product in conjunction with a new roll up unit as a ‘combo’ offer to clients.
“It will fit into any of the stands available out there and is suitable for entry level all the way up to the ‘all singing, all dancing’ roll up,” continued Scouler. “It will be marketed as an anti curl roll-up media but traditionally just like vinyls and monomerics outsell polymeric and cast ten to one the same will probably apply with this product as well.”
Print Solutions’ South Asian product contributions, which traditionally accounted for five percent of the company’s turnover, has now risen to 33% of all sales over the last year.
Scouler added: “One of the main reasons for this is the recession because people are looking for value for money. All the South Asian imports such as composite aluminium, vinyls, reflexives, banner PVC and display products will now be branded under a new name, which has yet to be finalised but which will encompass the name ‘Media Solutions’ in its title.”
