Signitec completes work for The Beara Breifne Way
Signiatec has completed its largest contract to date on behalf of The Heritage Council, The Beara Breifne Way. The project involved the creation of 350 miles of a walking and cycling trail which traces the epic 14 day march of Donal Cam, chieftain of the O’Sullivan Beara clan, and his followers from West Cork to Breifne in Co. Leitrim after the Battle of Kinsale in 1602.
Signitec which is based in Castlehale, Co. Kilkenny, specialise in providing products and services for walking, cycling and driving trails around the countryside as well as commercial signage and Display products. MD John Doyle, explained the significance of the project: “It was a huge undertaking given the size of the development,” he said. “The work started in 2008 in phases and comprised the installation of pedestrian bridges, constructing stiles, marker posts as well as putting directional signage on the roads and installing large digitally printed map boards in all the villages and towns along the route.”
Doyle continued: “The map boards and other outdoor signage were all printed on the company’s Soljet Pro III and Pro II machines. Both printers were ideal for the various elements of this job and I was delighted with the print results. However, I think it was Signiatec’s production facilities, particularly engineering/fabrication, site survey and large format printing which enabled this huge project to be successfully completed for The Heritage Council. “
