McGowan’s completes M-Press upgrade to an M-Press Tiger
McGowan’s has finished upgrading its Agfa M-Press to a fully fledged M-Press Tiger. The upgrade was undertaken to significantly boost McGowan’s productivity and deliver even higher quality output for the company.
The original M-Press proved extremely successful for McGowan’s, particularly in the POS sector where it ran at near full capacity last year. Tony Roe, MD at the company said: “The printing capabilities of the M-Press Tiger is incredible. The upgrade itself took eight weeks and the machine can now run at top speeds of 170 sheets per hour.
“Because screen has taken a big hit due to the reduction in runs lengths the M-Press was running nearly flat out so McGowan’s had to upgrade due to increased demand. Also for the majority of standard screen printing run-lengths, the effective output of the M-Press Tiger is equal to traditional screen printing. The machine gives the same turnaround time per job, but at a lower cost, delivers higher quality and it has only 25% of the screen ink lay-down. Most of the work on the M-Press Tiger will still be primarily POS but because it is so very flexible, it can run standard posters with small text, such is the quality of print.”
