Trimwel sees a new opportunity raising its head.
Trimwel, which has been supplying the sign trade in Ireland for 25 years, has developed a new service for sign makers to approach garages offering a vehicle wrap service with a difference. The concept involves substituting spraying old/new fleet vehicles with a 3M cast vinyl and adhesive which in to-days market is more cost effective than painting or re-spraying.
Nick Little, managing director of Trimwel explained how the new concept arose: “An Post has been selling old company vehicles painted ‘An Post’ Green and companies buying these needed to change the colour and lettering on them. One of Trimwel’s customers, Pacific Signs, based in Bray, was approached recently by a client to re spray an ‘An Post’ green vehicle. When an evaluation was made regarding the costs of spraying versus wrapping the vehicle it became clear that the material and labour costs were much better value when wrapping. This is due to a number of factors mainly a competitive price from 3M on their comply range of materials which greatly reduces the time it takes to wrap a van.”
As a result of this Trimwel supplied Pacific Signs with 3M IJ180 Premium Cast Vinyl with matching laminate to undertake this conversion.
Little continued: “There is a perceived view in the market that the price of material is higher than it actually is. Now Trimwel can offer 3M’s competitively priced ten year vehicle wrap IJ180 with comply adhesive as an alternative solution which is well under the price of a re-spray.”
Peter Doyle, Owner of Pacific Signs, added: “Having taken part in a 3M approved vehicle wrapping course through Trimwel and using the correct material Pacific Signs can now talk to local garages about a service that the company was not in a position to offer a year ago because of higher material costs.”
