Irish Signs lights up the highways
Irish Signs, which provide a conspicuity markings service for fire brigade appliances, has announced that this niche vehicle signage part of its business has recently grown to become a major revenue earner for the company.
Having teamed up with HPMP Fire (a division of High Precision Motor Products) which builds and provides a wide variety of bespoke fire appliance bodies from class b’s to water carriers for various fire service authorities in the country; Irish Signs operations involve repairing and also replacing existing markings and graphic signage on these fire appliances.
Managing director, R. Dermot Howard said that the niche for conspicuity markings service for fire brigade appliances had been a great boost for his company during difficult trading conditions as he explained.
“Irish Signs is subcontracted by HPMP to produce and apply all the graphics for these vechicles,” said Howard. “It’s broken down into two stages. The first involves applying 3M Diamond grade conspicuity markings which basically is all the reflective markings that each appliance requires. The second stage requires Irish Signs to manufacture various graphics and labels for a huge amount of the various size compartments on each fire engine which is then finished off by applying a 3M adhesive to cover the printed vinyl with Lexan overlaminate.”
Based in Co Carlow, Irish Signs is a family run business which also produces signage solutions for B&B Signs, window and vehicle graphics, building signage, POS, banners, labels, as well as road signage and auctioneer signs.
