3A Composites has bought a 25% stake in Swedboard International with the possibility of taking over the remaining 75% from mid-2024.
The move strengthens 3A’s display board product portfolio via Swedboard’s natural fibre board production. Based in Katrineholm, Sweden, Swedboard manufactures three main categories of boards: SB Fibre, a FSC certified, CO2 negative, rigid paperboard that comes in a number of variations; SB Composite, a lightweight foam board; and SB Solid Premium, a food compliant, white paperboard.
The environmentally-friendly position of Swedboard slots nicely into 3A’s eco  offering and fits with the company’s recently launched Five-Dot- sustainability programme.
