Strategic alliance formed between Atech and Pyramid
Wide-format hardware distributor Atech and Pyramid Display Materials have formed a strategic alliance that allows Pyramid to sell Atech’s full range of specialist large-format print, imaging and finishing equipment.
Neil McCarthy, head of sales and marketing for Pyramid, said: “The alliance with Atech is in direct response to our customers asking for advice on wide-format equipment and ancillary machinery. In the past, we have just passed these enquiries to various other machinery suppliers but in reality this was a missed opportunity to broaden Pyramid’s product portfolio. We saw a requirement to be able to supply and support equipment that would match the range of high quality and innovative products we are known for. We wanted to source a whole number of products including wide-format printers, laminators, eyelet machines and sewing and welding solutions.
“When we saw the solutions on offer from Atech and realised its philosophy and approach to business was similar to ours, we started a discussion.”
Products that will now be available via Pyramids through new alliance with Atech include the entire range of Roland printers and cutters, FTC vertical saws and cutters, the Bobis multi-applicator table, Seal laminators, a range of eyelet machines from Dataplot and the Matic range of banner welders and sewing machines.
Atech managing director Allan Ashman, said of the alliance: “The sign and display market is one that is maturing and for it to mature, it needs suppliers that are willing to work together to create innovative and dynamic solutions to their problems. Atech is a well-established company but our current showroom and demonstration facilities are based in Welwyn Garden City, which can be a problem for our customers in the north of England and Scotland who would prefer to see something more locally but need a reliable experienced supplier who has the knowledge and back up that we provide. By forming a strategic alliance with Pyramid for all our hardware products, this is now possible and sign and display professionals can see and buy the most comprehensive range of print and finishing products in the UK at either of our showrooms.”
Pyramid has just invested in a brand new building and distribution centre in Manchester and this will house their new machinery and wide-format application centre.
