Longford Signs install an Arizona 250 GT to upgrade production
Longford Signs has bought an Arizona 250 GT UV flatbed printer to reduce costs, improve productivity and open up new revenue streams. The Longford town-based company formed by Steve Bloor four years ago is now an established sign operation where where a growing portion of the work involves retail fitouts – both external and internal. It also produces vehicle lettering, full-colour banners and general display products.
“We have been using a Uniform Cadet solvent printer for most of our work but we really needed to reduce the amount of finishing time involved on certain jobs so that we could print straight onto corriboard and other such substrates,” said Bloor. “A lot of our production is for companies such as Mortimer Shopfitting which is one of Ireland’s leading designers of quality visual display products, so the Arizona 250 GT is going to give us much more flexibility to handle that type of work.”
The Arizona 250 GT is a true flatbed printer with a production mode speed of 16 m2/h and a rigid media size of 1.25 m wide x 2.5 m long which can handle substrates up to 48 mm thick.
Harry Farrell, business development manager, Display Graphics Oc? Ireland, added: “Even in the current economic climate, our customers find that the substantial improvements in productivity more than justifies the investment in the Arizona 250 GT. The wide range of applications provided by the printer is adding real extra value to their business by enabling them to offer new product lines and premium services to their client”
