The EcoPrint Summit slated for 6-7 June in Geneva has been reorganised as a virtual event to run on 11-12 October.
Marcus Timson from organiser FM Future said of the decision to switch from the face-to-face summit: “The idea behind this pivot is to share our high-quality content and insight with as many people as possible across the world. Virtual events are more inclusive, easier to justify attending and reach a demographic of people not typical of in-person trade shows or conferences. The issue of sustainability affects us all so we felt we should enable people across the world to participate!
“We discovered an appetite for information online regarding sustainability in print is huge and while the in-person event model did not prove popular, with our experience of running online events, we are very confident this model will prove successful.
“Sustainability is not going away as an issue and as the world comes to terms with aligning with Scope 3, and meeting these changing demands from the world’s leading brands and retailers, putting in place a plan and a strategy is really important. This event will feature advice from experts, case studies from sustainable print pioneers and talks from print customers.”
The speaker line-up for the October summit includes: Isabelle de Wolf, Helloprint; Nova Abbott, Taya Groups; Rachel Watkyn, The Tiny Box Company; Carlos Lahoz, HP; Charles van Reij, Cradle to Cradle Product Innovation Institute; Nathan Swinson Bullough, Imageco; Leon van der Meer, Probo; Steve Lister, consultant; Jon Hutton, Reconomy; Dr Stefan Kappaun, Durst; Paolo Grasso, Ecoleaf; James Beattie, Xanita; Kristi Duvall, The Boxmaker; Courtney Lorenz, SGK; Roland Niggemeyer, Niggermeyer.
The new format EcoPrint summit comes more than a decade after the first EcoPrint, which ran as a tradeshow and conference in Berlin at the end of 2012.
