Realt Paper expands its digital large format media portfolio
One of the Ireland’s leading independent Irish owned paper merchants, Realt Paper, has expanded its large-format Jetlife media range from Mitsubishi as well as introducing a new range of Daguerre and Monet Fine Art Canvas from Hahnemuhle Fine Art.
Ger Barron, managing director of Realt Paper, said: “The Jetlife brand is the mainstay of our large-format offering. Realt has significantly increased and broadened this range so that we can now offer the market for example high gloss photo quality poster paper in three grades: Jetlife Professional Photo Microporous gloss, Matt and Lustre. The resin coating of the photo media is designed the same way and produced on the same machines as traditional photo papers to give it the same look and feel. This combined with a microporous inkjet coating designed to control the ink laid down by the inkjet print provides an equal or better photo result than traditional methods when used on the latest inkjet printers and are suitable for a wide range of applications.
“Jetlife MH Matt comes in 90gsm – 230gsm and is FSC (chain of custody) certified. The expanded Jetlife range is universal for use with all large-format printers (up to 72in) using aqueous ink systems regardless of the colorant being dye or pigment. All products are fully compatible with both cold and hot lamination and suit applications from photographic, proofing, point of sale advertising to office applications and all are instant drying. Realt is also one of the few merchants to stock 60m lengths too for overnight production”
The recent addition of the Daguerre and Monet Canvas grades from Hahnemuhle was originally market driven and Realt Paper saw this as an opportunity to further develop its inkjet business as Barron explained: “The reason we decided to stock these grades was because photographers were looking for a good stocking source in Ireland of Hahnemuhle canvas. Both the Daguerre and Monet Canvas are very high quality products and we felt that this was an ideal opportunity for us to expand further into the photographic large-format sector.”
