    Oc? reveals its show line-up

‘Get back to Growth’ is Oc?’s marketing message at Ipex where it will have a 1,050m2 stand in Hall 12. Many of the company’s award winning systems will be showcased, but making its UK debut will be the new Oc? Arizona 550 GT flatbed printer – the highest capacity Arizona model released thus far. Oc? is quoting speeds of 40m2/hr for POP quality output on its top of the range machine enabling almost 100, 125cm x 250cm boards to be output in an eight-hour shift.
UV curable inks combined with Oc? VariaDot imaging technology offers near-photographic image quality for nearly any application. The 550 GT can print on a wide variety of rigid substrates up to a max of 1.25m by 2.5m but a Roll Media Option for printing onto flexible media up to 2.2m wide is also available.

Oc? has set out to make this machine super seductive to the small to medium business and claims that because it has been designed using an efficient cost-engineering approach, it is far more affordable, about 30-40 per cent less than other comparative flatbed systems in the market.

With this machine, print providers can enter into premium priced applications as the 550 GT prints on irregularly shaped or non-square items, heavy substrates such as glass, or materials that have an uneven surface such as wood. This is an important advantage over competitive rigid-capable printers that use belt or friction-based media feed systems, as they can only print on square-cornered, lightweight materials of uniform thickness. The architecture of the 550 GT means it can print on anything that is reasonably flat up to 48mm thick – from a hockey puck to a DVD to a door or a piece of painted aluminum.

With the roll media option, print providers can output onto vinyl, self-adhesive vinyl, scrim banner, paper and blue backed paper without compromising the rigid printing workflow.

Oc? VariaDot imaging technology enables a printhead to produce ink droplets of variable size resulting in variable sized dots on the printed media. The ability to jet small droplets produces sharp images with smoother gradients and quartertones, while the ability to jet larger droplets produces dense, uniform solids resulting in close to photographic output. The machine only uses four-colours and this coupled with the variable dot technology means that this machine like all Arizona series printers consume less than 8ml of ink per square meter.

Naturally a White Ink Option is also available allowing for the under-printing for non-white media or objects, over-printing for backlit applications on transparent media and/or printing white as a spot color.
