PrintIt! works according to Proskills survey

A third of all participating PrintIt! students would consider a career or an apprenticeship in the print and paper industries according to the latest annual survey undertaken by Proskills, the programme coordinator. The survey, undertaken by students before and after participating in the PrintIt! initiative, shows that 73% think the print industry is one that requires modern technology and skilled employees. Two thirds of the teachers involved in the programme said that PrintIt! gave their students a better insight into the career possibilities in the print and paper industries.

Jonathan Ledger, CEO of Proskills UK Group said: “It’s fantastic that PrintIt! enlightens and encourages so many

young people to consider and take up careers in the print and paper industries. Employers can benefit from this

potential talent pool by getting involved in PrintIt! and by giving young people the career kick-start they need by

    offering young people an apprenticeship.”

The PrintIt! annual report, which gives more in depth information about the 2014/15 programme and its benefits

to both young people and industry, will be released this summer.
