GTMS looks to used kit market for growth path
GTMS has bought a used Vutek UV flatbed printer and a Kongsburg CNC cutter to improve efficiency and develop new business. The company is currently trialing a new plywood-based material for hoardings on the Vutek, which also provides a 3m x 2m sheet print capability.
“We decided that purchasing a used machine was a sensible option given the current climate. The Vutek printer will look after existing requirements and allow us to develop new business with a view to upgrading in 18 months’ time,” said GTMS director Dominik Short.
As finishing times can currently create a production bottleneck, the addition of the Kongsburg CNC cutter will also increase its efficiency. It is expected to speed up finishing times by 50-60%.
