An ‘Urban Jungle’ carpet, designed by Helen Skelton for the second ‘Spark your City’ campaign and printed by SignAway, recently turned the walkway between London Waterloo train station and the South Bank into a colourful kaleidoscope.
A framework was built into the walkway to provide the kaleidoscope tunnel and mirrors were attached to the walls. The bespoke designed and printed carpet reflected in the mirrors to provide the kaleidoscopic effect for those walking through.
Appointed by agency Marmalade, SignAway printed and cut the 26.5m x 5.5m carpet in two sections, each with a diamond shape end. Precautions were taken to ensure the carpet, also installed by SignAway, would not lift under any weather conditions.
