43% of print businesses responding to the latest Close Brothers Business Barometer think the decision to leave the EU will lead to the break-up of the UK.
The quarterly survey questions UK SME owners and senior management from across a range of sectors and regions. In engineering, 44% think we will see a UK break-up – transport 40%, manufacturing 39%, and construction 33%.
From a regional perspective, 52% in Greater London, and 51% in Scotland think this will be the case. East Anglia was the region that felt the strongest about the UK remaining united.
