What¹s having the greatest impact on your business at the moment?
People – the people we deal with, the relationships we have forged and maintain. We have a loyal customer base that trust in us, in our product and in our service, we never take them for granted. And I believe that our suppliers provide the support that allows us to commit to our customers. Our loyalty to our suppliers is just as important as our customer’s loyalty to us.
Where do you see the greatest wide-format opportunities?
I see the greatest opportunities in the ever-developing processes that are available to utilise. Not so long ago white ink was a major innovation – now we are embracing the use of spot varnish and have the ability to create the most fantastic textured print. With new process comes new opportunity giving our design led customer’s options like never before. They sell weird, wonderful and wow, then challenge us to deliver. So far so good.
What would make your day-to-day operations easier?
On time payment of invoices. But I would suggest that is the same for everybody.
Your favourite bit of kit is..?
Easy one to answer, our Mimaki JFX200. Its ease of use is outstanding and the quality of print is phenomenal – it exceeds both ours and our customers’ expectations on a daily basis.
What¹s the best bit of business advice you¹ve been given?
Don’t settle for second best and never expect your customers to either. That was drummed into me early on and remains as true today as ever
What are you most proud of achieving?
Actually, committing to starting up as I still feel a buzz pulling up in the car park with our sign on the unit.
What lesson does the wide-format sector need to learn?
To not make the same mistakes that has dogged the print trade over the years
