HP subsidiary Apogee is to acquire Isle of Man-based Argon Business Systems, an IT services company with managed print and other professional service capabilities. The move supports Apogee’s venture into managed IT services.
Aurelio Maruggi, CEO of Apogee, said: “This acquisition helps strengthen Apogee’s position as a leader in managed workplace services, both in the UK and, as we continue to drive growth, in continental Europe. Argon’s reputation will enhance Apogee’s coverage and capabilities to support its customers with managed IT services, while forming part of our ongoing growth strategy, as we aim to create the perfect combination of secure and flexible solutions for our customers’ workforces.”
Argon’s CEO, Iain Fairbairn, commented on the acquisition, “This deal will enable the ongoing growth and development of the Argon team on the Island, expanding our range of Managed IT Services into the Apogee customer base across the UK and Ireland. It enhances the strength of the business for the future, and is recognition of the excellent service provided by the Argon team. Working with Apogee, we will be able to extend the solutions delivered and the value we can offer to our wide ranging customer base. I believe Apogee’s investment recognises the strength of our economy, the many sectors represented, and the opportunities which exist on the Island. “
Apogee has a long history of demonstrating growth both organically and through acquisition, having completed 20-plus acquisitions to date. This is Apogee’s third acquisition since announcing its change of ownership to HP in 2018, and Apogee will continue to consider further strategic acquisitions to drive its growth in the UK and continental Europe.
