Canon Ireland appoints Bryan S Ryan as its strategic partner for the professional print market
Bryan S Ryan has signed a new agreement with Canon Ireland to become its strategic partner for the professional digital print market in Ireland. The new deal builds on an existing distribution relationship between the two companies and will bolster Bryan S Ryan’s existing Canon reseller role in Ireland. The new agreement will see Brian S Ryan distribute and sell Canon’s full range of large-format printers (for general use, CAD and GIS) as well as Canon’s multifunctional devices and document solutions.
Bryan S Ryan employs 100 people at its headquarters in Tallaght, Dublin 24, and is structured into specialist divisions supplying stationery, furniture, IT solutions, office and print hardware as well as service and support. Brian Whyte, CEO, said: “The new strategic partnership with Canon Business Imaging means that we are now Canon’s direct route to market for all Canon’s LFP and professional print products.
“Given the changes in the sector, due to the impact of the recession, a niche market has developed which we will be looking to exploit over the coming years. We have already had success with the partnership to date, having sold a number of units over the past couple of months. Bryan S Ryan will be now looking to build upon this success by distributing products through a few strategic partnerships. This will complement our existing nationwide reach in terms of service, which we have also strengthened through additional training.
“We are now Canon Business Imaging’s only advanced solutions partner in Ireland. David Taylor, our sales director, is managing the LFP side of the business so in terms of driving sales, his main focus will be on the professional print channel. We distribute the full range of LFP products, but obviously we will be pushing specific printers which have more appeal for specific segments of this market. There are some other segments we will also look to develop such as sales of smaller LFPs to camera shops, which are part of a long term strategy for our company.”
The decision to appoint Bryan S Ryan as its strategic partner for the professional print market is part of a new push by Canon Ireland to increase sales of its LFP’s countrywide as Maurice Teague, country manager, Canon Business Imaging explained: “We are delighted to have signed this sales agreement with Bryan S Ryan as it means we will now have a much greater footprint across the country with a dedicated and focused partner working in the professional print LFP market on our behalf. Canon continually looks to produce innovative devices that enhance the way our customers do business and we believe that Brian Whyte and his team are best placed to help us deliver this vision to printers across Ireland.”
You can meet Bryan S Ryan on the Canon stand at Ipex in May.
