    Canon makes key appointments

Canon Europe has promoted Taz Nakamasu, its executive vice president Digital Printing and Solutions (DP&S) for Canon EMEA, to the role of global CEO Canon Production Printing (CPP). He will take on his new role on 1 January 2023, replacing Mick Asada who is returning to Tokyo to take on a Canon Inc. headquarters assignment at the end of this year.

Hiro Imamura, currently vice president marketing and innovation EMEA Digital Printing and Solutions, will become executive vice president DP&S, Canon EMEA on 1 January. His successor will be announced shortly.

CPP’s product offering includes large-format roll-to-roll and flatbed printers as well as continuous-feed and cut-sheet printers for high-volume printing and publishing, and industrial label printers. It operates on three continents and is headquartered in Venlo, the Netherlands.

Nakamasu, who will be based in Venlo, said of his move: “I am very excited for the opportunity to lead Canon Production Printing at such a critical time. For the past four years, under Mick’s leadership, CPP has expanded its portfolio and has focused on new growth areas like graphic arts. I look forward to working with the team and continuing the business evolution.”
