Creative Design and Print shows how to communicate
Creative Design and Print, based in Westpoint Business Park, Clonard, Co. Wexford, has undertaken an unusual job for Waters Technology, a Fortune 500 global company with production facilities located in Wexford town. The company was approached by Waters to develop some interesting visual displays for a number of rooms and hallways which were clinical in appearance yet still had to retain a clinical/sterilized atmosphere.
Creative Design and Print is headed up by Noel Moore and Margaret Furlong. Moore, MD of the company, said: “Both Creative Design and Print and Waters had discussions about the problem and finally developed a concept which would solve it which involved producing a whole range of both opaque and semi opaque translucent graphics which were printed on Metamark MD3, clear and white vinyl, all of which were produced on one of the company’s large-format printer, a Roland DG SP-540.
“The graphics, ranging in sizes from 610mm x 914mm to 1800mm x 1400mm, were mounted on to 5mm clear or opaque acrylic, with drill holes and polished edges. With each sheet, a set of four or six brushed metal fixings were used which raised the graphic various distances from the wall surface to create a “stepped effect. In addition, cut-out 3M 50 Series coloured vinyl was used for lettering and random ‘pixilation’ on the wall. The interesting aspect of the design was that various shapes were used and it was the interlocking of these that stood out making the walls and graphics part of the whole visual effect. This was then replicated in a whole range of areas.”
