Hybrid Software Group will use IGAS in Tokyo later this month to showcase a major upgrade to its SmartDFE digital front end for digital presses – the first technology co-developed by the group and designed to be part of a fully automated manufacturing system supporting Industry 4.0.
SmartMedia is a new suite of components that simplifies the process of obtaining the best quality and colour output from a digital press. Powered by PrintFlat and enhanced with colour tools from ColorLogic, SmartMedia packages all the OEM’s reference press settings for each media and inkset into a library of media definitions and, via a wizard-like experience, and enables printer operators to select the appropriate media and ink set combination without needing specialist knowledge.Â
Other new innovations on show from the group (which encompasses Hybrid Software, ColorLogic, Global Graphics Software, iC3D, Meteor Inkjet and Xitron)  include: version 8.0 of iC3D Suite all-in-one design software for packaging designers and converters; a PCC2-E print controller board, which offers higher performance than its predecessor and is backward-compatible with Meteor’s head driver cards; and Xitron’s new Navigator Flexo Suite Label
IGAS takes place at the Tokyo Big Sight in Japan, 24-28 November.
