Icon Prolab, the Middle East division of Icon, has been awarded a long-term wayfinding consultancy role with Dubai Airports. Initial work started in the autumn of 2011 and the contract is expected to run through to 2014. The awarding of the contract coincides with the appointment of Tim Woodstock as head of wayfinding for Icon’s Middle East team.
Woodstock said: “The first stage was to undertake a full audit of the existing scheme, followed by the development of both high level planning and graphic standards. We have also completed the design and manufacture of 3D maps for all areas.
Currently, we are managing the design and fabrication of a temporary gate signage programme.”??Commenting on Icon Prolab’s appointment, Sujata Suri, VP, service development from Dubai Airports said: “We chose Icon Prolab as they have the right mix of relevant experience, local knowledge and manufacturing expertise combined with a strong international reputation.”
