Kyocera will show its new Forearth textile printer for the first time outside of Japan at ITMA 2023 (8-14 June, Milan). The all-in-one printing system claims to dramatically reduce water usage in textile printing by using a new proprietary water-based pigment ink, pre-treatment liquid, and finishing agent which are constantly discharged in the same sequence from the inkjet head.
The system – which has a maximum 180cm print width – uses up to 18 Kyocera recirculating inkjet printheads and offers up to eight colours (CMYK+4 special colours). It allows for printing on a diverse range fabrics ranging from cotton, silk, and polyester to nylon and blended fabrics.
The first machines will be shipped in the autumn.
