Large-format orientated PSPs are invited to a Hollywood themed automated print production showcase being held at Canon’s Birmingham showroom on Tuesday, 16 May.
This is the third in a series of local events put together by a group of industry suppliers under the guise of ‘Print with Pride’ to show how real print jobs can be managed from point of order through to finishing in a cost-reducing automated process.
Print with Pride – set up by prior to the Covid pandemic by Paul Stead of ASL group and Kelvin Bell of Vpress – now includes EFI, Antalis and Duplo, which at this upcoming event will show how any fixed or personalised job can be ordered from a mobile/PC direct to production equipment via the Fiery Rip, printed on high quality substrates, and finished on Duplo equipment, ready to for attendees on the day to take away with them.
The wide-format focused event this month follows on from previous iterations earlier this year at Xerox in Uxbridge, with personalised cards and chocolates for Valentines, and at Duplo in Addlestone, where personalised packaging was offered on Cadbury’s Easter eggs.
“With more events to be held around the country, the ethos is to show how 24/7 online ordering – which is now where some 70% of print is purchased – is so achievable whilst being affordable,” said Bell, sales director at Web2Print provider Vpress.
Stead explained that each event is arranged so anyone can drop in – there is free parking and a free lunch – and leave with printed takeaways around the theme of the event. Each participating company has staff to answer any questions and address any issues. The Birmingham event being hosted by Canon will focus on large/wide-format, with printers and those who manage or design print invited to attend.
“On the 16 May we want to fully show what can be achieved simply by people talking to each other and connecting solutions together. Print is now 24/7, however, printers are not and this needs to be addressed,” said Daniel Schmidt, Vpress marketing manager.
PSPs attending the 16 May event are being invited invited to bring pictures of colleagues they wish to have movie posters printed for.
