Leach lightboxes travel to the Brooklyn Museum

Displays manufactured by Huddersfield-based Leach have been installed at the iconic Brooklyn Museum in New York.

Two lightboxes – each 3.4m wide and 2.5m tall – travelled the 3,000 miles to welcome visitors to the Museum’s ‘Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving’ show.

The exhibiion of the Mexican artist’s work is rich in colour so vivid pink and blue lightboxes were chosen to give visitors a flavour of what was coming before they stepped inside. The idea has been on the cards since discussions with the museum’s curators began back in November 2018.

Leach is part of Chargeurs Group, which has a philanthropic foundation committed to fostering intercultural dialogue and access to culture, health and education, thus the collaboration with Brooklyn Museum is aligned with its mission.

Anne Pasternak, the Shelby White and Leon Levy director at Brooklyn Museum said: “The stunning Leach-designed lightboxes at the entry to our exhibition truly set the stage for a magnificent experience.”

The exhibit will run until 12 May 2019.
