Lightning Print and Design showcases Éigse
Lightning Print and Design has completed a high profile print and signage project for one of Ireland’s reputably largest arts festivals, Éigse (Carlow Arts Festival).
The annual event ,which ran this year from the 10 – 19 June, has built up an international reputation, primarily for its visual arts exhibitions but also includes music, theatre, literature, dance, film and street entertainment.
Lightning Print and Design, which is based in the Enterprise Business Park in Carlow, specialises in design and print for manufacturing companies as well as educational institutions. Its work for the Éigse festival involved producing the programme catalogue as well as a host of signage elements all based on Éigse’s new 2011 logo.
Doug Poole, MD of the company, said: “Lightning Print and Design was given the brief to produce the entire programme for the event which derived from the new logo. This involved producing a large printed catalogue and video, bus shelter/roadside hoarding signage and various posters throughout the town. Because of the festival’s international reputation this was a very prestigious project for the company and allowed us to demonstrate Lightning Print and Design’s many capabilities both in high quality print and installation.”
The company concentrates a significant proportion of its work on design, based on its philosophy of only recruiting the best designers in the country. “This gives Lightning Print and Design a very strong offering to potential clients,” continued Poole. “The beauty then is that it bolts quite nicely into print and one of the advantages for designers that have print going on around them is that they learn very quickly about what can and what cant be done easily. It’s one of the reasons that the company plays well in the manufacturing sector which always requires innovative marketing collateral.”
