McGowan’s announces major investments in machinery and infrastructure
McGowan’s has announced two new developments for the company incorporating the investment in a Scodix1200 UV Digital Embossing press and the opening of a new distribution and sales office in Northern Ireland.
The company has always been at the forefront of new digital technology constantly striving to seek out the best new machinery to offer its clients innovative print solutions which suit modern demands. The Scodix1200 is typical of this providing digital clear ink and embossing in a single solution which will allow McGowan’s to offer in-house enhancement services and allow the company to continue its competitive edge in the marketplace. The new machine will be installed by late October.
Tony Roe, MD said: “The Scodix1200 will allow McGowan’s to digitally spot UV or emboss on virtually any substrate such as PVC, plastic, pulp and much more. I feel it will keep us ahead of other providers that offer print on demand in a digital sense. It accepts a wide selection of substrates (135-500 gsm), and is fully compatibility with a wide range of paper formats, sizes and thicknesses. It should give McGowan’s a significant competitive edge.”
Roe also added that the opening of a new distribution and sales office open in Northern Ireland is another major step for McGowan’s.
“It officially opened on the 1 Sept and its purpose is to cater for the company’s existing NI clients and to tap into the potential that is up there. There are three people operating from the new centre who have experience of the location and in that specific market.”
