McGowan’s closes the vinyl gap by installing a Roland DG Soljet XC-540MT
McGowan’s has continued its rapid investment programme by installing a Roland DG Soljet XC-540MT printer to provide a range of white and metallic print solutions.
Managing director Tony Roe said this new investment allows the company to offer a complete range of vinyl print solutions to its customers. “This machine closes off all the angles with regard to vinyl applications as far as we’re concerned,” he said. “With the current set of machines available to us in this area, two HP Colour Painters, the HP/Scitex Turbojet and the HP L65500 latex machine, along with this new Roland DG printer, it will allow us to compete competitively for every application.
“The Roland DG XC-540MT offers us not only white ink capacity, but metallics such as silver, bronze and gold as well now. Currently when we need to print an inside fix vinyl we have to mount white vinyl on to a clear stock to compensate for the inability of the process-only machines to achieve the white. The new metallic inks can be printed as a spot colour or combined with the CMYK inks to produce a range of coloured metallic effects including gold, silver, bronze and other pearlescent colours. The Soljet XC- 540MT is also compatible with PET film, canvas, paper, transparent film and banner substrates.”
