McGowans goes eco-friendly with Ireland’s first HP L65500 latex printer
Once again McGowans has upped the ante on its competitors by purchasing the eco-friendly HP L65500 latex printer, the first of its kind in Ireland.
The investment will allow it to offer its customers environmentally friendly print solutions on a much wider range of material than is currently available from solvent based printers. The HP L65500 is an innovative water-based HP latex inks machine designed with the environment in mind and boasts environmental, health, and safety advantages relative to low-solvent ink technology. The new inks do not produce ozone emissions during printing and also contain no hazardous air pollutants. HP maintain that the L65500 performance is comparable to low-solvent ink machines even though it uses a water based ink system and that latex prints achieve up to three years display permanence unlamented, five years laminated and provide scratch, smudge, and water resistance when compared to low-solvent inks.
