    McGowan’s to the rescue!

    McGowan’s to the rescue!

It’s not everyone who can produce and install a large building wrap particularly when the time scale is less than 24 hours. Well, McGowan’s did just that on Monday 6 December, in response to a call from the Tommy Hilfiger Corporation to help it out at its first ‘stand alone’ store in Trinity Street, Dublin.

MD Tony Roe explained: “Basically a call came in on the previous Friday afternoon to help in a situation for a fashion event for Tommy Hilfiger, which wanted a mesh wrap for its building in Trinity St. The wrap was approximately 18m x 6m but the catch was I wasn’t getting artwork until the following Monday and it needed to be installed that night and into early Tuesday morning. The job was printed on a HP Expedio 5000 which is a 5m wide machine that will print on mesh, PVC, fabrics and other substrates. As the required banner was over 5m on both dimensions it had had to be printed in sections and then tiled into one piece by using the on-site banner welding machine. The overall piece was then re-enforced so it could last the elements and brass eyelets were put in all round for ease of installation.”
Roe added: “The nature of the job meant that a height boom had to be used for the installation and the client was blown away both in terms of quality and turnaround. I really think the guys at Tommy Hilfiger were sure that this wasn’t going to be achievable in the short timeframe allowed.”
