Mutoh is previewing a new flatbed CMYK, white and varnish UV LED printer with moving gantry at Fespa Global. The new printer – the XpertJet 1462UF – has a print bed of 1470 x 740mm and will print on substrates and products up to a height of 150mm.
The new printer – an extension to Mutoh’s existing XPJ-461UF (A3+) and XPJ-661UF (A2+) direct-to-object desktop UV LED printers – has an integrated multi-zone vacuum bed and is equipped with two piezo drop on demand printheads mounted in a staggered setup. The first head prints CMYK, the second white and varnish, enabling 2-layer printing or Braille and 2.5D structure prints. Â
The XpertJet 1462UF will be released later this year in the EMEA and will be offered with a new generation of soft UV LED inks compatible with a broad range of substrates and free of any SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) ingredients.Â
