Developed in partnership with Mutoh, a New Real Substrate Proof from CGS Oris enables packaging proofing, mock-ups and samples on the final target production substrate.
Real Substrate Proof package, part of the Flex Pack Solution, includes a Mutoh VJ-628MP or VJ-1628MH printer, and new XG water-based resin inks in CMYK plus orange, green, blue and white to cover 97% of Pantone colours. The new inks are said to retain the look and feel and all other physical properties of the substrate, thus making it possible to create a proof or prototype which cannot be distinguished from the final product.
The software is based on the Oris 4D colour management technology and contains all functions and modules to produce various packaging proofs and packaging samples. Functions such as preflighting, soft proof and proof certification are integrated, and the program has packaging-specific spot colour management that converts spectral data natively and simulates the overprinting of spot colours. Cloud-based colour databases, such as the CGS Oris CxF Cloud or PantoneLive, can be integrated.
