Zund’s Q 32-32 D cutter, the flagship product in the newly launched Q-Line, has won the 2023 Red Dot award for product design.
The 43 independent jurors individually assess criteria such as the degree of innovation, ergonomic comfort, product silhouette, symbolic and emotional value, quality consciousness and the environmental credentials of a product for this award.
The Q 32-32 D – part of the Q-Line with BHS180 presented to the public for the first time earlier this month – has many integrated components and a fully automatic tool changing. It has retractable safety glass panels and integrated light barriers to ensure safety when the two beams are accelerating at up to 2g. The beams themselves are made of carbon fibre-reinforced composite, which makes them very light, strong and an appealing look.
