Papergraphics has become a partner for Canon UK, a move that sees it offering Canon’s aqueous large-format printers to the UK market as it extends its reach into the hardware and software sectors. The news follows the recent appointment of the Paperlinx UK digital solutions team, which joined Papergraphics in April – Paperlinx UK was formerly a reseller for Canon.
Papergraphics’ MD Nathan Atkins said: “We’re delighted to announce our appointment as a Canon partner for its range of wide-format printers. It’s a great opportunity for both brands to extend their reach into new markets. From substrates to hardware and software, our strategic focus moving forward is to develop our role as a value added reseller and expand opportunities to ensure we can offer a complete package to our customer base.”
According to data from the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Large Format Print Tracker released in February 2015, Canon maintained its number two position in the wide-format market, with an estimated 20% market share based on worldwide shipments. The top five wide-format printer manufacturers are reported to make up 80% of global wide-format shipments, but only two-thirds of revenue with manufacturers like Canon dominating the aqueous segment.
