PFE appointed second new dealer in Ireland by Roland DG UK
PFE (Print and Finishing Equipment) has been appointed as a second premium partner by Roland DG UK to distribute its large-format printers in Ireland. As a leading supplier of in-house print and finishing equipment for both the commercial and digital print sector over the last 20 years the Roland deal will allow PFE to capitalise on its extensive commercial printer base that in many cases outsource large-format print work.
“I know many people were surprised at the appointment,” said Duncan Groom, MD of PFE. “However Roland and PFE believe that the emerging market for wide-format is not necessarily with sign makers, it’s with commercial printers. Technology has moved to such a stage that for relatively little investment these companies can set up high quality wide-format printing and critical to the equation is that this sector has the customer base also who currently use sign makers for LFP jobs.
“You also have to remember that PFE has a commercial client base of over 800 companies and with Roland targeting the commercial print market for LFP sales it made sense to use PFE’s extensive customer data base and in depth knowledge of this sectors print requirements. PFE has a lot of clients for example in the packaging end of the business and so this is one area which offers good growth potential.”
PFE will promote Roland’s VersaUV LEC-330 and LEC-540 range as well as the SolJet Pro III XC, Soljet Pro 111 MT and AdvancedJet AJ range at the commercial print market where Groom believes there is a definite opportunity to develop LFP sales in a number of areas such as proofing, packaging, labels, and general LFP work such as posters etc.
