RMC Digital Print is installing an EFI Vutek H5 as part of the recent MBO team’s growth plans. Installation is expected at the start of November.
Alongside the new printer – which replaces an EFI Vutek LX and a Durst P10 – the company is implementing a new PrintIQ web-based management workflow system and upgrading some of its other software. It is also in the process of rebuilding its website and expanding its print offering.
The family-run Hull-based trade printer, founded in 2012, underwent an MBO in August that saw Fespa UK president Nicole Spencer take over as managing director and Richard Spencer become chairman. At the time they said long-term plans for the business included investing in new equipment, with the ultimate aim of expanding its client-base and broadening RMC Print’s customer offering.
Nicole Spencer said the new H5 “is as fast as the two outgoing machines put together, and is better in terms of quality, plus it will give us the opportunity to play with more multi-layer print applications.”
Of the £12,000 PrintIQ system, which will replace the company’s Clarity system, she said: “It should enable us to be more efficient, and drastically improve workflow.”
