Sappi is expanding European production of its Fusion Topliner white virgin fibre liner for high-end corrugated packaging and POS displays to guarantee a sustainable and short supply chain.
The company is adding the grade to its flagship mill in Gratkorn, Austria as well as continuing its manufacture at the Ehingen mill in Germany. Sappi said volumes will be enlarged over the next three months to ensure reliable customer supply.
“Gratkorn offers the best possible technical prerequisites for the production of our Fusion product. With the investments we have made, Sappi is strengthening both its packaging and speciality paper business as well as the Gratkorn mill itself,” said Luis Mata, Sappi sales director packaging and digital solutions.
