Swiss company unveils the Impala
Swiss-based swissQprint has brought out a UV flatbed that can print in up to nine colours (or add primer and varnish) on a wide range of stock up to 2.5m wide x 4m in length. The Impala printer, which was running at Fespa 2010, will be available from the autumn.
The standard CMYK may be supplemented by up to five additional channels – including effect varnish, or primer for printing onto media that have traditionally resisted inkjet methods. An adjustable vacuum system retains standard panels as well as heat-sensitive substrates and mesh. The anodised printing table can carry media as heavy as 400kg.?
