The moving printhead carriage of a swissQprint UV printer immediately halts should it come into contact with a person or object thanks to new software. The system also stops instantly if there is a danger of the printhead grazing the substrate, typically where there are undulations or raised edges. Printing is resumed at exactly the same point where the printhead carriage came to rest.
The new feature is available to existing swissQprint users as a software update, and has been integrated in new systems.
