The BAPC has launched a Ratings Scheme
The BAPC has launched a Ratings Scheme (for members and no-members) to help print companies get money back if they have been overpaying on their business rates. And it seems many have been as current business rates were set based on property values in 2003, well before the recent drop in prices. This means that those of you who think the rateable value of your premises is too high can appeal for a reduction – and a rate rebate.
For a flat fee of ?395 (plus VAT) you can use the BAPC’s Rating Scheme to handle all the legwork for you. The association has brought in an expert agency that will inspect and value your business property (regardless of size), apply for a rate reduction and take up the appeal on your behalf.
The scheme has been introduced at a critical time, as all appeals against rateable values must be made before the next valuation in 2010.
The BAPC is currently working on a number of other money saving schemes to be introduced this year.
