Xaar has held a ‘sustainability week’ to mark the progress it has made in the first year of its sustainability roadmap to 2030. The printhead developer reduced its plastic consumption by more than 1.2 tonnes in 2022 and, following a recent reorganisation at its facility in Huntingdon, it is expecting a 40% energy reduction by the end of quarter one this year.
The sustainability week began on 13 March with community day raffles, charity fundraising, a quiz and pie-baking competition, raising over £2,300. A video demonstrated the progress of the group’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) programme and included staff perspectives on each of its four pillars – environment, people, innovation and community.
“We have seen a real cultural change across our group as we put sustainability at the centre of our business,” said Graham Tweedal, Xaar COO. “We will make further great strides on our journey set out in our sustainability roadmap to 2030.”
